St John’s Pre-School Nursery is a community nursery which opened in September 2007.
St John’s Pre-School Nursery
The nursery works to deliver excellent pre-school education in line with national requirements and the school’s Christian aims and ethos for the benefit of local parents and children. At the last Ofsted inspections, the main school was rated Good and the nursery was rated Outstanding.
The nursery has a strong reputation in the local community for its excellent care and has been regularly over-subscribed since its opening.
The Nursery is run by a Board of Trustees and employs six members of staff, all of whom hold a relevant childcare qualification. Our Manager holds Qualified Teacher Status and Early Years Teacher Status.

Session Times
Nursery is open five mornings a week from 8.50am – 11:50am during term times only.

Our Intent
Uphold the Christian Ethos of the Bible as we bring LIFE into the local community by:
- Loving God through our care; providing a safe, stimulating and caring environment
- Introducing Christian Values; through bible activities, prayer, local church and festivals
- Fruit of the Spirit Cultivation; by sharing love, kindness, gentleness, peace and patience and encouraging a culture which seeks to put others first
- Employing staff who uphold the Christian Ethos; both practising Christians and those who are able to actively support our Christian values
The impact of our curriculum will be:
Happy children who are secure in their learning and able to approach their next steps in life with Christian values enhancing their enriched education.
